BVIS on Display: Tiffany Raber’s Research
Current BVIS student TiffanyRaber‘s research will be exhibited for the duration of the Radiological Society of North America’s conference in Chicago, Nov. 26- Dec. 2. Tiffany is working with radiologist Dr. Aytekin Oto, Chief of Abdominal Imaging and Body MRI at the University of Chicago, on An Interactive Application Incorporating 3D Models and 2D Illustrations for Enhanced Prostate MRI Training.
We asked Tiffany to tell us more about her research and how she became involved with the Radiological Society of North America. In her words:
“I am beyond grateful that my graduate research will be presented as an educational exhibition at the Radiological Society of North America’s 102nd scientific assembly. My content expert Dr. Aytekin Oto, Professor of Radiology and Surgery and Director of Body MR Imaging at the University of Chicago, suggested that even with my research in primitive stages, that I apply to present my project titled, An interactive application incorporating 3D models and 2D illustrations for enhanced prostate MRI training with thousands of radiology physicians from all over the world. My interactive program will combine 3D models and 2D diagrammatic illustrations, in conjunction with Magnetic Resonance Imaging data, to create a dynamic, educational experience that will aid in the process of learning how to detect and evaluate common pathological cases in the prostate.”
Congratulations to Tiffany, Dr. Oto, and Tiffany‘s research committee: Leah Lebowicz, Kevin Brennan and Donna Hughes!
