Chicago Zine Fest

This past Saturday, students of the Biomedical Visualization department participated in the Chicago Zine Fest as part of a fundraiser for the Student Association of Medical Artists (SAMA).  At the festival, students sold self-published Zines containing samples of their artwork, and also exchanged baked goods for donations to SAMA.

The Zine Fest fundraiser was extremely successful! Funds raised at the Zine Fest will help students actively engage in the Biomedical Visualization field  by sponsoring student artwork submissions to the Association of Medical Illustrators conference this summer. These funds will also help pay for the series of figure drawing sessions that are arranged for students each semester. SAMA would like to give a special thanks to all of the students who helped, and all of the sponsors from the Zine Fest who enjoyed our baked goods!

SAMA will be holding another fundraiser on Friday, April 5th at the Drum and Monkey Pub on Taylor street from 7 to 10 PM, where participants can support SAMA while listening to live music and chatting with friends. We hope to see you there!
