Anatomical Events

With classwork, research and a few extracurricular activities, the BVIS class has a lot ahead of them this Spring!
To start off we have our figure drawing sessions scheduled! To help accommodate different schedules we didn’t just stick to one day of the week, however all sessions will be in the evening 5-7pm. The drawing sessions will be held in the BVIS student lounge. Please bring all of your own drawing supplies, we have chairs and couches but no easels or drawing tables.

Our first event will the Anatomical Love on February 8th, 6pm to Midnight.  In Pilsen, Second Friday is a monthly event featuring music and artwork down along 18th street. Our exhibition will be at Pilsen Vintage, 1430 West 18th Street, Chicago IL 60608.  Anatomical Love will display artwork of intriguing subject matter from a variety of mediums. We hope to see you there!

A month later we will exhibit work at the National Museum of Health and Medicine Chicago (NMH+MC). This event is hosted at a private venue so RSVPs are required for attendance. Email with the subject “Digital Creations RSVP”, in the body of the email include your name and the name of your guests.


Digital Creations, in contrast to Anatomical Love, will highlight  computer based media students have generated, whether they are personal projects or work done while in the program. The layout of  the NMH+MC gallery space facilitates the display of media created for digital space.  Be sure to RSVP to this event March 1st, 2013 7-10pm held at 175 W. Washington Street, Chicago IL.

Last but not least SAMA will be represented at the Chicago Zine Fest. Here we will have two booths, one giving out baked goods for donations and another selling our Anatomical Zine! The Chciago Zine Fest is March 8th and 9th, however the booth venue will take place March 9th from 11am – 6pm. The Zine Exhibition will feature over 200 tables, workshops, and panels at the Conaway Center, Columbia College ( 1104 South Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60605).
